Merck To Invest EUR 1 Bln Until 2025 At Darmstadt Site - Quick Facts

Merck announced that the company management and the Joint Works Council have signed a comprehensive agreement applicable to the Darmstadt site. The aim is to secure the future viability of company headquarters as a central science and technology hub and to further expand it. For the purpose, Merck will invest a total of 1 billion euros until 2025. The company management and employee representatives have agreed to extend the employment guarantee until the end of 2025.

Merck is currently holding talks about the possible construction of a new membrane plant in Darmstadt. Also, the company plans to construct a new Vocational and Advanced Training Center at the site.

SiriusXM launched a new subscription package exclusively for college students at a steep discount, just ahead of the fall semester. The satellite-radio giant introduced the "Student Premier" Package that provides students with all the content in SiriusXM's "Premier Streaming" package for $4 per month. LLC recalled about 3000 units of Garvin pop-up electrical outlet floor box kits for concerns of fire hazard. The company said the electrical receptacles can overheat when in use. Southwire already received three reports of the floor boxes overheating. However, there have been no injuries reported so far.
