EOS Remains On Top Of China's Crypto Ranking Index

Chinese altcoin EOS continues to be on top of the latest Global Public Chain Technology Evaluation Index.

China's Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, released the March edition of its state-endorsed cryptocurrency and Blockchain ratings.

New cryptocurrency Tron has been ranked second, while Ethereum remains in the third place.

Bitcoin fell by two steps, from 13th to 15th.

Other cryptocurrencies that made it to the top ten include Bitshares, Nebulas, Ontology, NULS, GX Chain, NEO, and Steem.

It is the eleventh update since the index was launched in May 2018, with 28 projects listed in it. Seven more cryptocurrencies were added to the list later.

"The results show that the world's three major Dapp platforms — EOS, Tron, [and] Ethereum — still rank in the top three, [and] the scores are 155.7, 146.7 and 142.8, respectively," CCID said in its report.

Tron debuted on Chinese government's official cryptocurrency rankings only in February, securing the second position.

The crypto projects were ranked based on three major indicators: their basic technology, applicability, and creativity.

The Chinese government is issuing cryptocurrency rating index despite the fact that cryptocurrency trading and Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) are banned in the country.

However, the crackdown on digital currency is not succeeding, and Initial Coin Offering activity has intensified, media reports indicate.
