Chinese altcoin EOS continues to be on top of the latest Global Public Chain Technology Evaluation Index. China's Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, released the March edition of its state-endorsed cryptocurrency and Blockchain ratings. New cryptocurrency Tron has been ranked second, while Ethereum remains in the third place.

Singapore Govt-backed Blockchain Accelerator Tribe Teams With BMW Asia, Intel

Tribe, a blockchain accelerator backed by Singapore government, announced its partnership with BMW Group Asia, Intel and Nielsen. BMW Group Asia, which oversees the East Asia region comprising 13 markets, will provide masterclasses and mentoring sessions on how blockchain solutions can be implemented in a mass market situation. Intel will offer business and technical mentorship to startups.

Twitch Stops Options For Cryptocurrency Payments

Twitch.tv, a live streaming video platform popular to gamers, has stopped cryptocurrency payments and donations without notice. The move reportedly is due to low volume of transaction. The platform, which had over 15 million daily active users as of May 2018, used to accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin as a payment method for subscriptions. However, the options are removed now, thta was first spotted by Reddit users.

Western Union Partners Thunes to Expand Payout to Mobile Wallets

Payments giant Western Union has teamed up with cross-border payments firm Thunes, formerly TransferTo, for sending funds directly into mobile wallets around the world. Thunes offers a cross-border payments network for emerging markets. Western Union said its customers will have multiple payout options including bank accounts, cards or mobile wallets.
