Slovakia Inflation At 6-Month High

Slovakia's consumer price inflation rose for the third straight month to the highest in six months in March, figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed on Monday.

Consumer prices climbed 2.7 percent year-on-year in March, following a 2.3 percent increase in February.

The latest reading was the highest since last September, when the inflation was 2.7 percent.

Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco grew the most by 4.4 percent annually in March, followed by 3.1 percent rise in food and non-alcoholic beverages.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.6 percent in March, after a 0.2 percent rise in the previous month.
