New Supervisory Board Formed At Axel Springer

German media holding company Axel Springer (AXELF.PK) said its shareholders elected nine members to its supervisory Board, and also approved an increased dividend of 2.10 euros at the annual general meeting.

The Supervisory Board named Ralph Büchi as the new Chairman of the Board, and Friede Springer was re-elected as Deputy Chairman. The company also appointed Giuseppe Vita as Honorary Chairman.

Ralph Büchi and Ulrich Plett were elected as new members of the Supervisory Board. The Existing members include Oliver Heine, Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, Alexander Karp, Iris Knobloch, Wolfgang Reitzle, Friede Springer and Martin Varsavsky.

The previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Giuseppe Vita, ended his term with the end of the annual general meeting after serving three periods in office.

SiriusXM launched a new subscription package exclusively for college students at a steep discount, just ahead of the fall semester. The satellite-radio giant introduced the "Student Premier" Package that provides students with all the content in SiriusXM's "Premier Streaming" package for $4 per month. This is a 69 percent discount from the regular price of $12.99 per month for Premier Streaming. LLC recalled about 3000 units of Garvin pop-up electrical outlet floor box kits for concerns of fire hazard. The company said the electrical receptacles can overheat when in use. Southwire already received three reports of the floor boxes overheating. However, there have been no injuries reported so far.
