Bitcoin Crosses $5,500 To Hit 5-Month High

Bitcoin found a new 2019 mark of $5636 on Tuesday, reaching its highest level in more than five months.

The last time the most popular cryptocurrency traded above this price was on November 15.

Bitcoin is continuing the surge after crossing $5,000 on April 3. It has been trading above the recently achieved support level of $5000 since then.

Buoyed by the bullish rally, the record price of the year was broken multiple times this month.

On Tuesday, Bitcoin bettered the year's best price of $5,422, recorded on April 12.

BTC improved its value by $254, or 4.78 percent, within the past 24 hours.

Within the past 30 days, BTC price has increased by $1,600, or more than 40 percent.

Bitcoin is changing hands for $5571 at the time of writing this. Its market capitalization has risen significantly on Tuesday, to $98.4 billion, its highest since November, 2018.

There has also been a $16.3 billion hike in its 24-hour trading volume.
