Grafton Group 4-month Group Revenue, LFL Revenue Rise - Quick Facts

Grafton Group plc (GFTU.L, GROUF), a distributor of building materials, reported Wednesday that its Group revenue for the four months to April 30 increased 6.1 percent to 962 million pounds from 907 million pounds last year. Revenues increased 6.5 percent in constant currency.

Group like-for-like revenue increased 6.4 percent.

In its trading update for the period from January 1 to April 30, the company said it benefited from good revenue growth driven by a positive trading performance and more favorable weather.

Growth in total revenue was impacted by the disposal of two non-core UK merchanting businesses in the second half of 2018.

Gavin Slark, Chief Executive Officer, said, "The Group had a positive start to the year and we should continue to benefit from the momentum in our Irish and Dutch businesses. Underlying demand in the UK RMI market remains relatively subdued and we continue to focus on realising the benefits from the investments we have made in recent years into our higher margin Selco and Leyland SDM businesses."
