Sensex, Nifty Marginally Higher In Early Trade

Indian shares were moving in a narrow range on Monday as investors digested weak industrial output data and watched the latest U.S.-China trade developments.

The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 90 points or 0.24 percent at 37,553 while the broader Nifty index was up 10 points at 11,288.

ITC gained 0.7 percent. Managing director Sanjiv Puri is likely to take over the role of chairman as well following the demise of YC Deveshwar.

Jet Airways slumped 4.6 percent as Etihad submitted a non-binding bid for the cash-strapped airline.

Reliance Industries rose half a percent on news it will digitize 5 million kirana stores.

Maruti Suzuki edged up 0.2 percent on news it would launch no less than four new cars this year.

PC Jeweler rallied nearly 2 percent after its board gave approval for the demerger of the company's export division.

DMart advanced 0.8 percent on reporting a 21 percent rise in Q4 profit.
