Gross domestic product rose a non-seasonally adjusted 3.7 percent year-on-year following a 3.6 percent increase in the final three months of 2018.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, however, GDP growth slowed to 3.8 percent from 3.9 percent, slowing for a second straight quarter.

Compared to the previous quarter, GDP increased a seasonally adjusted 0.9 percent in the first three months of the year, following a 0.8 percent expansion in the fourth quarter of 2018.
