Generali Group Q1 Profit Climbs On Higher Premiums - Quick Facts

Italian insurance group Assicurazioni Generali SpA (ARZGY.PK) Thursday reported that its first-quarter Group net profit climbed 28.1 percent to 744 million euros from last year's 581 million euros.

Adjusted net profit was 616 million euros, compared to 581 million euros last year, in line with its targets of the new strategic plan.

Operating result grew 6.9% from last year to 1.35 billion euros, driven by contribution from all Group business segments.

Gross written premiums were 18.87 billion euros, up 6.6 percent from 17.74 billion euros last year. P&C premiums grew 3.1% with growth in all the main countries in which the Group operates.

Generali Group CFO, Cristiano Borean, said, "These results show that the implementation of the Generali 2021 strategy, announced in November 2018, has gotten off to an excellent start."
