It's National Donut Day 2019 on Friday, June 7, 2019. Be ready to get into the weekend in the sweetest way by grabbing free doughnuts and other sweet deals at doughnut shops, coffee shops and bakeries across the United States in this once in a year opportunity.

The National Donut Day is celebrated in the U.S. on the first Friday of June of each year. It commemorates the Doughnut event created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor their member women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

In Chicago and other cities, the day is still a fundraiser for The Salvation Army. In 2017, the organization joined with Russ's Market, Super Saver, LaMar's Donuts, Hurts Donut and Krispy Kreme in Lincoln, Nebraska and Tempe, Arizona to raise funds.

Everyone loves donuts, there's something about that delicious deep fried treat that brings a smile to everyone's face. Donut day offers can vary by location and these deals are generally only available June 7 while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme is giving away one free donut from their entire menu to anyone who comes in to their stores on June 7. Dunkin'Donuts is giving out a free classic doughnut when you purchase a beverage.

LaMar's Donuts will give visitors a donut that has a hole in it for free, even without any purchase. Duck Donuts is also giving out one free bare, cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar doughnut on Friday, no purchase necessary.

Bob's Coffee & Doughnuts, the L.A. donut shop is celebrating the day by giving away one free buttermilk donut when customers buy six. Randy's Donuts will be giving away four glazed donut rounds to every guest on the day from 6 a.m. to noon at all locations, until supplies last.

Meanwhile, retail giant Walmart will be giving away free glazed donuts in the bakery section at 4,000 Walmart stores across the U.S. on Friday, doling out 1.2 million of them in total. Just visit the bakery section to claim your treat.

The Salvation Army is also joining the party, with the staff and volunteers celebrating the National Donut Day by delivering donuts and hosting events across the country.
