Pop star Ariana Grande veered from her usual set-list during her most recent Sweetener Tour concert in Charlotte on Monday, choosing to sing a pair of throwback tracks from her 2013 album, Yours Truly, in honor of her mother's birthday.

"It's actually a very special day: Today is my mom's birthday. I haven't done these songs in a couple years but... they're mom's favorites," Grande told the crowd before belting out stripped-down versions of "Tattooed Heart" and "Piano."

"Greatest singer in the world and she sang this for me! Wow... my head is spinning!! There's truly no one better! I'm so grateful for this moment ... one I will never forget!! I love you," the singer's mother Joan Grande tweeted in response.

Grande is next set to perform at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, June 12.
