Alternative rock legends Radiohead have made their move against a hacker who stole previously unreleased recordings from circa 1997 from frontman Thom Yorke and "demanded $150,000 on threat of releasing it."
"Instead of complaining - much - or ignoring it, we're releasing all 18 hours on Bandcamp," lead guitarist Jonny Greenwood said in a statement.
All proceeds from the sale of the 18-hour-long collection will be donated to Extinction Rebellion, an international non-profit organization, which "uses non-violent civil disobedience to achieve radical change in order to minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse."
"It's only tangentially interesting. And very, very long," Greenwood added, signing off with, "Rainy out, isn't it though?"
The 18-hour collection will be available for purchase for 18 pounds for the next 18 days.
