Telefónica Deutschland Secures Spectrum For 5G In Germany - Quick Facts

Telefónica Deutschland (TELDF.OB,TFTHF.OB) has received 90 MHz nationwide spectrum for the mobile radio standard 5G through to 2040. At the 5G frequency auction, the company acquired 2 paired blocks in the 2.1 GHz range and 7 unpaired blocks at 3.6 GHz for 1.425 billion euros.

"We achieved a good result in the auction and acquired a valuable frequency package that ideally complements our existing spectrum and will enable our ambition of being the Mobile Customer & Digital Champion for our customers also in the next 20 years. The new frequency equipment optimizes our network management, opens the way to new business segments," said Markus Haas, CEO of Telefónica Germany.
