South Africa Wholesale Sales Rise In April

South Africa's wholesale sales rose in April after falling in the previous month, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.

Wholesale trade sales rose 5.5 percent year-on-year in April, after a 2.8 percent fall in March. In February, sales increased 0.6 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, wholesale trade sales rose 1.8 percent in April, following a 1.2 percent gain in the preceding month.

In the three months ended April, wholesale trade sales rose 2.8 percent, compared with 1.2 percent fall in the previous three month.

At the current prices, wholesales trade sales grew 13.3 percent annually in April and by 3.8 percent from a month ago.
