Garth Brooks has broken the attendance record at Denver's Mile High Stadium by attracting 84,500 fans to his concert on June 8.

The show became the "largest ticketed event in Broncos stadium history," by eclipsing the previous record of 77,000 set by U2 in 2011.

"Brooks is as famous for his concerts as he is for his songs, and it's easy to see why," The Denver Post noted.

Brooks expressed gratitude to his fans through a post on Instagram.

"Epic is an understatement! Denver, YOU just gave me the GREATEST night of my career! THANK YOU!!" he said, adding a photo of his performance at the stadium.

The Denver concert was part of Brooks' ongoing Stadium Tour, which is set to run for three years.
