Taylor Swift has shared details about how she and Katy Perry ended their long-running feud.

"She and I have been on good terms for a while," Swift said in an interview with Capital FM. "She sent me a really nice note and an olive branch to my tour when it started a while ago.

"From that point on, we've been on good terms," she added. "Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things."

Swift said that settling the feud with Perry has changed her life for the better.

"Something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us, and we've been fine for a while," she said.

Swift said that she and Perry wanted to ensure the bonding between them was absolutely "solid" before going public about it.

"We'd grown past allowing ourselves to be pitted against each other," Swift told BBC Radio 1.

Speaking about dressing up as a burger and fries for her video, "You Need To Calm Down," Swift said she got the idea after seeing Perry dress as the Jeremy Scott burger at the Met Gala.

She added that Perry responded by saying, "I would love for us to be a symbol of redemption and forgiveness," when the idea was presented to her.
