Rihanna has offered support for Sudan's pro-democracy protesters who are demanding a return to civilian rule.

"With more protests planned for today, June 30, I send my love and I pray for the safety of the Sudanese people," Rihanna said on Twitter, posting a picture of a protester draped in national flag in front of a burning city.

"They have a right to speak out and demand peace, justice, and a transition to civilian rule," according to Riri.

More than 100 people were killed and hundreds more were wounded in a violent crackdown during June 3 protests.

The pop musician said the military rulers need to be held accountable for the atrocities.

"Praying for no more killings or abuse today," she added.

Rihanna called on her followers to fight for human rights in Africa and stand with protesters in Sudan.
