Sensex, Nifty Little Changed In Early Trade

Indian shares were little changed in cautious trade on Friday as investors awaited cues from key earnings and developments on the trade front.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was up 3 points or 0.01 percent at 38,826 while the broader Nifty index was virtually unchanged at 11,583.

NTPC, Reliance Industries, UPL and Sun Pharma climbed 1-2 percent in the Nifty pack while Bharti Airtel, Hero MotoCorp, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, JSW Steel and Wipro dropped 1-2 percent.

InterGlobe Aviation advanced 1.5 percent. Market regulator SEBI is likely to probe role of all board members and every entity associated with the two main promoter groups.

Reliance Infrastructure shed 0.7 percent after signing a debt resolution pact with lenders.

Vedanta was marginally lower. The resources major plans to spend as much as Rs. 55,000 crore ($8 billion) in the medium term to boost output across its businesses.

Tata Motors dropped 1.3 percent, a day after reporting a 5 percent decline in global sales.

Infosys rose half a percent ahead of its quarterly results due today.

Salzer Electronics rallied 3 percent after completing acquisition of Kaycee Industries.

SBI edged down slightly after it put up for sale two financial assets to asset reconstruction companies.
