CES 2020 To Include Sex Tech

The Consumer Electronics Show have announced that it will allow sex toys to be exhibited on the floor as well as win awards next year.

The organizers said CES 2020 will include tech-based sexual products on a one-year trial basis as part of the Health & Wellness product category or in the Health & Wellness startup area of Eureka Park. Products must be innovative and include new or emerging tech to qualify.

"We don't want to see rows and rows of just standard vibrators," said Karen Chupka, EVP, CES.

The latest announcement comes just a year after the convention revoked an award from a woman-focused sex toy company.

The Consumer Technology Association has also updated its dress code, aimed at companies who hire models to wear skimpy and revealing clothing.

"Booth personnel may not wear clothing that is sexually revealing or that could be interpreted as undergarments. Clothing that reveals an excess of bare skin, or body-conforming clothing that hugs genitalia must not be worn," the new guidelines say.

The new dress code is applicable to all booth staff, regardless of gender. The existing CES ban on pornography will continue to be strictly enforced with no exceptions for CES 2020.
