Sports Direct Acquires Jack Wills For GBP 12.75 Mln In Cash

Sports Direct International Plc (SDIPF.PK,SPD.L) said that it acquired the business and assets of the clothing retailer Jack Wills from Jack Wills Limited, including all of the UK and Republic of Ireland stores and stock and the international Jack Wills brand, for 12.75 million pounds in cash.

For the year ended 28 January 2018 Jack Wills had gross assets of 98.97 million pounds. It reported operating loss, before exceptional items, of 14.23 million pounds and a net profit, after exceptional items, of 19.21 million pounds.

Wendy's Co. joined the growing list of fast-food chains that are launching plant-based meat options. The fast food chain has introduced "The Plantiful," a plant-based burger, at its restaurants across Canada. Wendy's said it formulated its own recipe in-house, unlike other fast-food chains who have relied on Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods to introduce their plant-based meat alternatives. Panera Bread Co. is launching a new subscription program that will allow customers to drink unlimited coffee and tea. The new program of $8.99 per month launches Thursday and covers hot coffee, iced coffee and hot tea. With the introduction of the subscription, Panera becomes the first national restaurant company to offer unlimited hot drip coffee, iced coffee and hot tea for $8.99 per month. Best Buy Co. Inc. (BBY) Thursday reported a fourth-quarter profit that increased 1.4 percent from last year, while, J. C. Penney Co.'s (JCP) quarterly profit dropped 64 percent. However, the results of the companies topped analysts' estimates.
