Sensex, Nifty Little Changed In Early Trade

Indian shares opened largely unchanged on Thursday as other Asian markets rebounded amid signs of stabilization in the Chinese yuan. A sharp decline in oil prices overnight also helped underpin investor sentiment.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was down 20 points at 36.669, giving up early gains. The broader NSE Nifty index was virtually unchanged at 10,855.

InterGlobe Aviation was little changed after an independent director of IndiGo called upon the chairman of the airline to come up with "confidence-building measures" to remove the "trust deficit".

Tata Steel tumbled 3.2 percent as it reported a 64.5 percent year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended June.

Reliance Industries slid half a percent on reports it is partnering with iconic U.S.-based luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co to open a line of stores in the country.

HCL Technologies soared 3.2 percent after reporting its Q1 results.

Adani Gas climbed 2.6 percent on reporting a 43 percent jump in quarterly profit.

Punjab & Sind Bank rallied 1.3 percent after narrowing its Q1 net loss.
