Daktronics Q1 Profit Tops Estimates; Net Sales Up 16.9% - Quick Facts

Daktronics, Inc. (DAKT) reported first quarter net income per share of $0.16 compared to $0.10, previous year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.10, for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

First-quarter net sales were $180.3 million, compared to $154.2 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $156.32 million for the quarter. Net sales increased in the Commercial, Live Events, High School Park and Recreation, and Transportation business units, and decreased in the International business unit. First quarter orders were $187.5 million, compared to $159.6 million, prior year.

Video streaming giant Netflix said it will donate 1 million euros to Audiens, the social protection group of the French cultural sector, to help launch a COVID-19 emergency relief fund to support workers in the French television and cinema industry.
