Toyota Motor North America August Sales Up 11.3% - Quick Facts

Toyota Motor North America reported Wednesday that sales for the month of August 2019 were 248,334 vehicles, an increase of 11.3 percent on a volume basis and up 7.4 percent on daily selling rate (DSR) basis versus August 2018.

Toyota division posted August sales of 218,403 units, up 12.3 percent on a volume basis and up 8.3 percent on a DSR basis. This marks the best-ever August sales for the division. Hybrid sales were up 68.3 percent for Toyota division.

Lexus division posted August sales of 29,931 vehicles, up 4.6 percent on a volume basis and edged up 0.8 percent on a DSR basis. Hybrid sales were up 44.2 percent for Lexus division.

Panera Bread Co. is launching a new subscription program that will allow customers to drink unlimited coffee and tea. The new program of $8.99 per month launches Thursday and covers hot coffee, iced coffee and hot tea. Safavieh LLC recalled about 760 units of Aura and Silas 3-Drawer Chests for possible serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement. The company said the chests are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall.
