Wacker Chemie Acquires Stake In Nexeon - Quick Facts

Wacker Chemie AG (WKCMY.PK,WKCMF.PK) has acquired a stake in Nexeon, a UK headquartered battery material and licensing company. Nexeon develops, produces and sells silicon-based anode materials. Nexeon works with OEMs and battery companies to enable next generation lithium-ion batteries. It has an application engineering facility in Yokohama, Japan.

"Today's agreement is a key step in strengthening our activities in silicon-based anode materials for next-generation batteries by putting them on an even broader base," said Christian Hartel, responsible for R&D on WACKER's Executive Board.

Ride hailing company Uber Technologies Inc. is cutting 600 jobs in India amid the impact of continuing coronavirus-related lockdown across the country, reports said citing Uber India and South Asia President Pradeep Parameswaran. The affected employees include full-time workers in driver and rider support, as well as other functions, and represent around 25 percen of its workforce in the country. Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling approximately 276,872 pounds of not ready-to-eat chicken and turkey bowl products, citing the presence of extraneous materials specifically small rocks, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS announced in a statement. The latest recall is an expansion to the Russellville, Arkansas-based company's earlier recall in April. The German government has approved a 9 billion euros rescue package for Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DLAKF, DLAKY), which is the largest German corporate rescue package since the coronavirus crisis struck. The airline has also agreed to the rescue deal.
