California-based brewer Two Roots Brewing Co. said it has agreed to acquire Rochester Mills Production Brewery, a craft beer producer in Michigan. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal will enable Two Roots to expand its U.S. market presence and also bring cannabis-infused beer to Michigan. Further, it will allow Two Roots to expand its production capacity by an additional 60,000 barrels annually.

Founded in 2012, Rochester Mills Production Brewery is known for brews such as its signature Milkshake Stout, Rochester Red Ale, and Juice Bigalow NEIPA, which can be found at more than 1,000 taps at bars and restaurants in Michigan, Northern Ohio, Indiana, Europe and Canada.

Two Roots Brewing is a licensed trademark of Lighthouse Strategies LLC and has a "triple threat" portfolio of traditional, non-alcoholic and third party produced non-alcoholic cannabis-infused craft beers. The company's craft beers are available in three classic styles, including Lager, New West IPA, and Wheat.

Two Roots noted that Rochester Mills' products and their availability will not change with the acquisition. The transaction is expected to close within the next 90 days.

"On the heels of announcing the Company's move to enter approximately 150 California BevMo! locations, the leading specialty beverage retailer on the west coast, we're now expanding into the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic," said Michael Hayford, Managing Member Two Roots Brewing Co. and CEO of Lighthouse Strategies, LLC.

Rochester Mills Beer Co., a brewpub in Rochester Michigan, is not part of the acquisition and will continue to operate as a separate business.

Two Roots recently began offering cannabis-infused non-alcoholic craft brews in California and Nevada. With the latest acquisition, the company will start brewing its traditional and non-alcoholic beers at the Rochester Mills' brewery.

However, these beers will not be infused with cannabis at the Rochester Mills' brewery. Instead, they will be shipped in bulk to state-licensed cannabis manufacturers, who will infuse, package and distribute the beer as cannabis-infused beverage under the Two Roots label.
