Marine services provider James Fisher and Sons plc (FSJ.L) announced Friday that its subsidiary JFD has been awarded a multi-million pound contract for the design and build of submarine rescue equipment.
The contract includes advanced Deep Search and Rescue Vehicles or DSAR. The contract is part of a comprehensive submarine rescue capability being provided to China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co. Ltd.
JFD provides fast, safe and reliable subsea rescue services, solutions products, and engineering services. It provides training to 80 countries and 33 of the world's navies. The unit also provides the NATO Submarine Rescue System.
Nick Henry, Chief Executive Officer of JFS, said, "This contract award underlines JFD's position as market leader in the submarine rescue market, safeguarding the lives of submariners and providing a comprehensive submarine rescue capability to organisations around the world."
