Country star Sturgill Simpson has revealed his plans to embark on a tour with Tyler Childers next year.

On the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, Simpson said, "We're going to do a full U.S. tour starting mid to late February, with myself and a young man named Tyler Childers opening."

"I love [Tyler Childers]. Big fan of that dude … I was listening to his Purgatory album on the way over here," host Joe Rogan said in response to Simpson's announcement.

The tour is expected to be about 40 dates and will be in support of Simpson's new album, Sound & Fury.

Simpson has produced Childers' two albums Purgatory (2017) and this year's Country Squire, which earned Childers his first No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

Simpson is currently performing a handful of intimate shows to benefit the Special Forces Foundation. The six-date trek kicked off on Sunday, September 29 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. It will wrap up on October 8 in New Jersey.

Simpson will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from these shows to the Special Forces Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides ongoing support to Special Forces soldiers and their families.
