Slang Worldwide Inc., a cannabis consumer packaged goods company, said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Cookies, a California-based cannabis and lifestyle brand, to bring Cookies' products to the Colorado market. Slang expects the first Cookies products to be available for sale in Colorado in early 2020.

Slang said that as part of the deal with Cookies, it has signed an exclusive licensing and distribution agreement in connection for the proposed sale of pre-packaged flower products and concentrates for the Colorado market.

"At SLANG, we are proud to bring the Cookies brand to Colorado, and further extend our portfolio in flower and concentrates—at 40 percent of the Colorado cannabis market, the flower category represents a massive opportunity for SLANG to increase overall cannabis dollar share," said Slang CEO Peter Miller.

One of Slang's network partners will cultivate the Cookies strains, while Slang will market and sell the products through its state-wide distribution channels. Slang noted that the Cookies strains include next-generation hybrids of some of the most popular strains in the world.

In addition, Slang and Cookies will work together to evaluate additional opportunities in other markets that Slang operates.

Slang's branded products are being sold in Colorado since 2012.

According to BDS Analytics, Slang's O.penVAPE brand is the best-selling cannabis brand in Colorado's history, while its District Edibles gummies, Bakked concentrates and Pressies are currently among the state's top-ranked cannabis products in their categories.

Slang noted that the dried flower and concentrate products licensed from Cookies will complement its own existing product portfolio in the Colorado market.

Dried flower represented about 40 percent of the cannabis market in Colorado, which totaled $1.2 billion of sales in the first eight months of 2019, according to BDS Analytics. Slang's entry into the branded dried flower market will further diversify its business.

Slang has a portfolio of branded products and a presence in 12 states in the U.S., with its products available in over 2,600 retail stores.
