Eli Lilly Boosts FY19 Earnings Outlook - Quick Facts

While reporting financial results for the third quarter on Wednesday, Eli Lilly and Co. (LLY) raised its earnings and adjusted earnings guidance for the full year 2019, while maintaining its revenue outlook.

For fiscal 2019, the company now expects earnings in a range of $8.59 to $8.69 per share and adjusted earnings in a range of $5.75 to $5.85 per share.

Previously, the company projected earnings in the range of $8.58 to $8.68 per share and adjusted earnings in the range of $5.67 to $5.77 per share.

However, the company continues to anticipate revenues between $22.0 billion and $22.5 billion, with the growth driven by volume from key growth products including Trulicity, Taltz, Basaglar, Jardiance, Verzenio, Cyramza, Olumiant, and Emgality.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the company to report earnings of $5.72 per share on revenues of $22.23 billion for the year. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Indonesia is exploring a total ban on the use of electronic cigarettes and vape products in the country due to healthcare concerns following the lung illness outbreak related to vaping in the U.S., according to reports. However, the South-East Asian country has not reported any cases of vaping-related illness. Chain-smoking Indonesia is the world's second largest tobacco market. Monsanto on Thursday pleaded guilty to illegally using a banned pesticide known as Penncap-M on research crops at one of its facilities on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The agro-chemicals company will pay $10 million for charges that it unlawfully stored the banned pesticide, which had to be managed as an acute hazardous waste. The banned pesticide is specifically methyl parathion. Anti-aging skin care products, beauty serum ingredients and essential oils provider Resurrectionbeauty issued a recall for about 270 units of wintergreen essential oil due to risk of poisoning for young children if they swallow it. However, the company has not received reports of any incidents or injuries so far. The product contains the substance methyl salicylate.
