Confirming an obscure rumor, former DONDA art director Joe Perez has confirmed Kanye West's sixth album, Yeezus, was originally called "Thank God for Drugs."
Perez shared an image on Instagram similar to the final Yeezus cover but with the words "Thank God for Drugs" sprawled across it.
"Pre-Yeezus gif concepts - Round 2. Before naming the album Yeezus, the title was "Thank God For Drugs" and featured artwork by @artistgeorgecondo," Perez wrote in the caption.
West has since gone on to fully embrace Christianity and recently released two faith-based albums, Jesus Is King and Jesus Is Born.
