Demi Lovato To Perform At 2020 Grammy Awards

Demi Lovato took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that she will be performing at the 62nd Grammy Awards on January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The 27-year old pop star captioned the post, "I told you the next time you'd hear from me I'd be singing."

A month ago, the pop star had posted a message on social media that read, "The next time you hear from me, I'll be singing…."

For Lovato, the upcoming appearance at the awards night will be her first show since a drug overdose in July 2018.

Following her recovery, she took a long hiatus and canceled the remainder of her Tell Me You Love Me tour, saying she was taking "time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery."

Her last album was Tell Me You Love Me in 2017. The song "Sorry Not Sorry" from the album was a big hit.

Her last single, "Sober," came out June 2018, about one month before the overdose.

In May 2019, she announced that she had signed with a new manager, Scooter Braun.

A few months later she announced that she had been cast in both the Netflix film Eurovision and in the television series "Will & Grace," as a guest star. She made her debut on the show earlier this month.

Lovato will join other artists announced earlier by The Recording Academy on Tuesday. Ariana Grande, Aerosmith, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are in the lineup announced by the organizers. Alicia Keys will be the host for a second straight year.

The event will be broadcast live by CBS beginning at 8 pm ET.
