J D Wetherspoon 12-week LFL Sales Up 4.7% - Quick Facts

J D Wetherspoon plc (JDW.L) reported that, for the first 12 weeks of the second quarter (to 19 January 2020), like-for-like sales increased by 4.7% and total sales were up by 4.2%. For the year to date (25 weeks to 19 January 2020), like-for-like sales increased by 5.0% and total sales rose by 4.9%.

J D Wetherspoon plc stated that it continues to project a trading outcome for the financial year in line with its previous expectations. The Group currently expects net debt (pre IFRS16) at the end of the financial year to be between 780 million pounds and 820 million pounds, slightly higher than previously expected, due to higher than anticipated capital expenditure.

The Group's interim results for the six months ending 26 January 2020 are expected to be announced on 20 March 2020.
