U.S. teen sensation Coco Gauff has set up a big third round clash with defending champion Naomi Osaka in the Australian Open.

15-year-old Gauff was trailing Romania's Sorana Cirstea 0-3 in the third set Wednesday, but made an unbelievable come back to turn the match in her favor with a 4-6 6-3 7-5 win in two hours and six minutes.

The world number 67 thanked the crowd in Australia for the support she received through the match. "I was down 3-0 and you really made me believe," she said.

Gauff, who made a grand Australian Open debut Monday by beating Venus Williams in the first round, awaits a tougher opponent next - Japanese third seed Osaka.

She had a comparatively easier second round match in the Margaret Court Arena, defeating Chinese Zheng Saisai 6-2 6-4 in 80 minutes.

Oska, who was 2-4 down in the second set, said she got fired up when "people started clapping more."

This will be the second Osaka-Gauff third round Grand Slam clash in a row. Osaka was the winner in the US Open in September.

In other second round matches, world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty won against Slovenia's Polona Hercog, Serena Williams beat Tamara Zidansek, Heather Watson defeated Kristyna Pliskova, while Caroline Wozniacki recovered from 1-5 down in the opening set against Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska to win 7-5 7-5.

Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova also beat Spain's Paula Badosa by an identical score.

In the men's section, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round with comfortable wins.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion was in top gear as he dispatched Filip Krajinovic 6-1 6-4 6-1 in just 92 minutes, unleashing 42 winners.
