The Marley family, Universal Music and Island Records have teamed up to drop a new animated music video for Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" in celebration of the reggae legend's 75th birthday.

The new animated music video premiered on Bob Marley's official YouTube channel. The black-and-white clip was created by French artists Octave Marsal and Theo De Gueltzl using 2,747 original drawings.

"I think it came out amazing," Marley's daughter Cedella told Billboard. "We went through this six-month process with Octave and Theo going through it page by page, us looking at stuff and approving it all. When I watch it, it still gives me goosebumps."

"From the history of Slavery and Jamaica, Rastafarian culture, legacy of prophets (Haile Selassie the 1st, Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X), as well as Bob's personal life, we take the audience on a journey through allegories and representations," Marsal and De Gueltzl explain about the video.

Thursday, February 6, would have been Bob Marley's 75th birthday. Marley died in 1981 of cancer. He was 36.

The late reggae legend's family are planning a yearlong celebration that will include special releases, live performance events and more.
