Hollister Biosciences To Partner Tommy Chong For Cannabis Elixir

California-based cannabis company Hollister Biosciences Inc. recently announced that it entered into a licensing agreement with actor and cannabis icon Tommy Chong to manufacture and distribute a cannabis tincture.

The tincture, branded Tommy Chong's Cannabis Full Spectrum Elixir 1:1, features a 1:1 ratio of tetrahydrocannabinol to cannabidiol, and is recognized for its medicinal properties.

Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is a psychoactive compound in marijuana that induces the 'high' and hallucinogenic effect in the user. Cannabidiol or CBD is a chemical in the marijuana plant often used for medicinal purposes, and does not have the intoxicating effects like those caused by THC.

The tincture, made from premium California-grown cannabis, is crafted in small, artisanal batches for optimal quality, Hollister Cannabis noted.

Tommy Chong, best known for his marijuana-themed Cheech & Chong comedy albums and movies with Cheech Marin, is also a cannabis rights activist. The legendary comedy duo Cheech & Chong came to define a generation of young entertainers and single-handedly launched the genre of Stoner Comedy.

Chong, considered as a "marijuana pioneer", founded the cannabis brand Chong's Choice.

The tincture will be distributed exclusively by Hollister Cannabis Co.'s distribution partner, Indus Holdings, Inc. The product is anticipated to be in dispensaries throughout California by March 01, 2020.

Hollister expects to produce up to 25,000 units of Tommy Chong's Cannabis Full Spectrum Elixir 1:1 during the first twelve months of executing the agreement, with an estimated retail price of $70 per unit, all sold through Indus Holdings.

Commenting on the licensing agreement with Hollister, Chong said, "I only partner with the best-in-class companies and I am really pleased to have the Hollister Cannabis Co. bring their amazing Tommy Chong's Cannabis Full Spectrum Elixir to the market for me".
