AptarGroup Issues Q1 Earnings Guidance - Quick Facts

AptarGroup, Inc. (ATR) said it expects earnings per share for the first quarter, excluding any restructuring costs and acquisition-related expenses, to be in the range of $0.85 to $0.93. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the company to report profit per share of $1.04. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share was $0.80, down 13% compared to the prior
year. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.78, for the quarter.

Fourth-quarter reported sales decreased 2% to $671 million, negatively affected by changes in currency exchange rates. Core sales, excluding currency and acquisition effects, declined 1%, for the quarter. Analysts expected revenue of $678.08 million for the quarter.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter profit that more than doubled from last year, reflecting a surge in investment banking revenues and lower provisions for bad loans. Net revenues for the quarter rose 18 percent. Both quarterly earnings per share and revenues topped analysts' expectations. U.S. holiday retail sales in 2020 were unexpectedly high compared to last year and came in significantly higher than the previous forecast, according to the National Retail Federation or NRF. Retail sales for the November-December 2020 holiday season grew 8.3 percent from the prior-year period to $789.4 billion. The figures exclude automobile dealers, gasoline stations and restaurants. Milk supplier Hiland Dairy recalled one-half pint 1% low-fat chocolate milk that was produced at its facility in Norman, Oklahoma, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The affected milk may contain food-grade sanitizers that could cause illness if consumed. The recall was reported to have been initiated after unexpected illness was noticed among many children at a hospital.
