Fiona Apple has unveiled the title of her first record in nearly 8 years. Dubbed Fetch the Bolt Cutter, the album will be a follow-up to Apple's 2012 collection, The Idler Wheel.

The 42-year-old singer recently spoke with writer Emily Nussbaum for an extensive profile in the The New Yorker.

Apple shared that the title of the album is inspired by a scene from the British crime drama, "The Fall," in which the lead character, a detective played by Gillian Anderson, opens the door to a room in which a young girl was tortured using a pair of bolt cutters.

In the same interview, she also shared that many years ago, she was inspired to quit cocaine after she spent a night at Quentin Tarantino's house with the director and her then-boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson.

"Every addict should just get locked in a private movie theatre with Q.T. and P.T.A. on coke, and they'll never want to do it again," Apple jokingly said.
