AutoNation Promotes COO Jim Bender To President And COO - Quick Facts

Automotive retailer AutoNation, Inc. (AN) announced Wednesday that Jim Bender, AutoNation's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, effective today, April 22, 2020.

Bender has held several key leadership positions within AutoNation for over 20 years. Bender has implemented successful initiatives which have resulted in record-breaking results over the last year.

Lord & Taylor joined the growing list of U.S. retailers who filed for bankruptcy amid the coronavirus pandemic. Thomson International Inc. is recalling Red, Yellow, White, and Sweet Yellow Onions for potential contamination with Salmonella, according to a statement by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or FDA. The onions are in distribution since May 1, 2020. They were sold to wholesalers, restaurants, and retail stores in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Canada.
