New Zealand will on Monday release April figures for electronic card transactions, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. In March, electronic retail spending was down 3.9 percent on month and 1.8 percent on year.

Indonesia will provide Q1 numbers for its current account. In the three months prior, the current account deficit was $8.12 billion, while the capital account surplus was $13 million and the financial account surplus was $12.37 billion.

Finally, the markets in Malaysia are closed on Monday in observance of Nuzul Al'Quran and will re-open on Tuesday.
