Keith Urban has announced that he will release his new studio album, The Speed of Now Part 1, on September 18.
Urban announced the news of the release in a video clip via Billboard.
In the video, an unseen person asks Urban what he's been up to. Urban replies, "What have I been up to? A bit of recording, a whole lot of making coffee."
The Speed of Now Part 1 is Urban's 11th studio album and the follow-up to Graffiti U, which dropped in April 2018. Urban had previously released "We Were" and "God Whispered Your Name" from the album.
Urban has also shared clips of five songs from the project, including "Tumbleweed," the previously released "Polaroid," "Change Your Mind," "Wait" and "Superman."
In the video, Urban says that he came up with the album's title last fall because it reflected how quickly life was moving.
"I liked it because I felt like life was flying by so fast. Faster and faster all the time. But music, for me, has always been the place where it slows down and doesn't even exist. I would never have imagined that, in 2020, this album title would take on a whole new meaning and yet somehow still feel incredibly relevant," Urban added.
