Billy Idol teamed up with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots for a cover of his 80's power anthem "Dancing With Myself" for Fallon's "The Tonight Show" on May 21.

The Roots members used at-home instruments such as pots and pans, pill bottles and cigar box basses, as well as a couple of kitchen implements, to produce required sounds.

The clip also features footage of fans dancing by themselves at home.
Idol steps into the song, singing the second verse that contains remixed lyrics.

"If I had the chance I'd ask me to dance/ If I had the chance I'd ask you all to dance," he croons.

In February, Idol joined New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio in a campaign aimed at fighting the unnecessary idling of cars in the city.

"When I heard about this campaign it just made sense," Idol said at the time. "It's amusing but also very serious."

In April, Fallon and The Roots teamed up with Sting for a remote performance of "Don't Stand So Close to Me."
