Billie Eilish recently took to social media to school her audience about the malintent behind the "All Lives Matter" movement, following the nationwide protests that have erupted after a 46-year-old black man hailing from Minneapolis was choked to death by a police officer while in custody.

"I've been trying to take this week to figure out a way to address this delicately," the 18-year-old singer began her lengthy and passionate post on Instagram. "I have an enormous platform and I try really hard to be respectful and take time to think through what I say and how I say it...But holy f-ing shit I'm gonna just start talking."

In the remainder of the post, she attempted to explain to her audience that the "Black Lives Movement" in no way infringes upon the rights of white people; "no one is saying your life doesn't matter.
no one is saying your life is not hard," she wrote. "all you mfs do is find a way to make everything about yourself. This is not about you. Stop making everything about you."

She also made a heroic endeavor to deconstruct the concept of white privilege to those who may be unfamiliar with the idea; "Why is it okay for white people to protest literally being asked to stay at home while carrying semi-automatic weapons? Why is it okay for black people to be called thugs for protesting the murder of innocent people? Do you know why? White. F---ing. Privilege," she wrote.

The post has been lauded by a host of celebrities and has garnered more than 5.8 million likes on the platform, on which she has a total of 63.6 million followers worldwide.

In an earlier post, the "Bad Guy" singer had also shared a picture of Floyd, along with her condolences and a few links, through which her followers could support the cause, including texting "FLOYD" to the number 55156, donating to the "Black Lives Matter" foundation, and signing the official Change.org petition.
