It's been one year since Lil Nas X came out as gay, and the singer took to Twitter on June 30 to mark the anniversary and asked fans what he should do next.

"I have officially been gay for a year wow that was fun what should i do next!?" he wrote on Twitter and got responses from several fans, with some asking him to come out with a new album.

Lil Nas noted the option to do an R&B an album was a "top contender" as he loved the part about doing one.

Replying to a follower who said, "lmao @ everyone who fell for it," the singer said, "lmao i so got them haha it was a prank bro."

Lil Nas had a great time last year with his monster hit "Old Town Road," breaking records and staying atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks.

He went on to win two 2020 Grammys for the song: best music video and best pop duo/group performance for the remix version featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.

Reflecting on his decision to come out gay, Lil Nas told The Guardian earlier this year that he experienced astonishing success since his rise to fame.

"I 100% want to represent the LGBT community," he said about his LGBT fans that he didn't want to encourage them to do something they don't 100% want to do. "Especially in, like, middle school or high school.
Because it's just super hard."

"The honest truth is, I planned to die with the secret," he explained of his own sexuality, before adding, "That changed when I became Lil Nas X."
