Stock Alert: Snap Adds 5%

Shares of camera and social media company Snap Inc. (SNAP) are climbing more than 5% Tuesday morning at $24.72, close to its 52-week high of $24.90. There are no company-specific news to move the stock up.

The company's multimedia messaging app, Snapchat saw more than 35% increase in the first quarter ended March 31 as more people were spending time on Snapchat during the Coronavirus lockdown.

The stock had nearly 3-fold growth in the past couple of months.

Billionaire Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway reported a profit for the second-quarter that increased 87 percent from last year, as the value of its investment portfolio increased with the stock market. But it took about $10 billion write down on the value of its Precision Castparts aircraft parts unit due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Operating profit declined 10 percent. Twitter has had preliminary talks with TikTok's Chinese owner ByteDance to buy the U.S. operations of the video-sharing app, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.
