Kane Brown has dropped a remix version of "Homesick" as an homage to military veterans.

"Homesick" was the third single from Brown's second album Experiment. The song, which dropped on August 5, 2019, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. Brown wrote the song with Brock Berryhill, Matt McGinn, and Taylor Phillips.

Brown has now shared the remix version of the song as a tribute to U.S. military veterans. The songs is being released as part of a collaboration between Brown and the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project.

"I love Crown, so I was just like, 'Heck yeah,'" Brown told PopCulture.com. "They were working with soldiers, so I thought that would be cool. And we decided to do something with 'Homesick' and let the veterans kind of remix my song. That's cool because it's coming out on the first year anniversary that we released it, August 5th."

"I feel like it's a lot more powerful, too, because you got three veterans singing on it," he added. The three veterans featured on the song are Generald Wilson, Retired Petty Officer First Class, U.S. Navy, J.W. Cortes, Retired Gunnery Sergeant, U.S. Marines, and Sal Gonzalez, Retired Lance Corporal, U.S. Marines.

The proceeds from the song will go to help veterans as well as first responders who are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. The Purple Bag Project will also donate a dollar to Minority Veterans of America for every stream, up to $100,000.
