Artists from the music world took to social media to react to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden naming California Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate.

The reaction from artists such as John Legend, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Ciara, Sheryl Crow, Sara Bareilles and P!nk, was largely positive.

Legend said he is "very much looking forward to voting for the Biden-Harris ticket to begin the difficult work of recovering from this nightmare presidency and building an even better future".

Crow said it's time for a "Woman in the White House," while Swift simply tweeted, "Yes."

Singer and actress Cher called it a "great day for America," adding, "We have brains and beauty, they have nothing."

"Sen.Kamala Harris this is a great moment. L et's take care of her and make sure we are supportive of her because this is a no nonsense race and she is ready. Go Kamala," actress, author and television personality Whoopi Goldberg tweeted.

The reaction from the music world was not all positive, however, as Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose reacted to news by posting a YouTube link to the Roger Daltrey song "Say It Ain't So Joe."
