Russ Davis Wholesale Recalls Peaches And Peach Salsa Over Health Concerns

Fruits and vegetables wholesaler, Russ Davis Wholesale (RDW) is recalling peaches and peach salsa under the Crazy Fresh and Quick & Easy brands due to possible contamination with Salmonella, FDA said in a statement.

This follows the recall of peaches on 22nd of this month by fruit growing and packaging company Wawona Packaging, who supplied the fruits to Russ Davis.

The concerned products were delivered to retail stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

The affected peach salsa was also sold at deli counters at grocery stores in Ortonville, MN, Cross Lake, MN and Tipton, IA. Also, five Bountiful Fresh gift baskets containing the recalled peaches were sold at one location in Hastings, MN.

The details of affected products with product name, packaging and sell by date are as follows: Crazy Fresh Perfectly Peach Salsa, 8 oz, 6/25/2020 to 8/26/2020; Quick & Easy Perfectly Peach Salsa, 8 oz., 7/29/2020 to 8/26/2020; Clear Label Perfectly Peach Salsa, 8 oz., 7/30/2020 to 8/23/2020.

Russ Davis Wholesale is yet to receive any reports of illness due to the consumption of the products.

Infection with Salmonella bacteria affects the intestinal tract causing fever, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain. It can be serious and sometimes fatal to young children and elderly people.
