UnitedHealthcare has introduced a new healthcare plan in Kansas City that helps employers save up to 15% on monthly premiums, the company said in a statement.

The new plan features Saint Luke's Health System and Children's Mercy Kansas City in its high-performing network, UnitedHealthcare said.

Saint Luke's consists of 18 hospitals and campuses, 10 convenient care clinics, more than 130 primary care and specialty offices treating patients in 65 specialty services. Saint Luke also has home care and hospice, behavioral health care, and a senior living community.

Children's Mercy, one of the top pediatric health systems in the country has campuses at Adele Hall, and Overland Park, in Kansas City. Other than this, it has 22 primary care sites, and 4 urgent care centers throughout the region. Children's Mercy also provides a telemedicine program.

The company said employees also benefit from this plan with a reduction in monthly premium compared to other UnitedHealthcare health plans.

The new plan will be available from Jan. 1 to all fully insured and self-funded employers in Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, as well as Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties in Missouri.

According to UnitedHealthcare, employers, whose offices or facilities are located in other counties in Kansas and Missouri, can also avail the plan if a majority of their employees live in these five counties.

UnitedHealthcare and Saint Luke's started their partnership in 2017 for an accountable care organization (ACO) for members enrolled in UnitedHealthcare's employer-sponsored health plans.
