India's wholesale prices rose for the second straight month in September, data from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry showed on Wednesday.
The wholesale price index rose 1.32 percent year-on-year in September, following a 0.16 percent increase in August. Economists had expected a 0.78 percent rise.
The primary articles price index rose 5.10 percent annually in September, following a 1.60 percent increase in the previous month.
Food price inflation rose to 6.92 percent in September from 4.07 percent in the previous month.
Fuel and power prices decreased 9.54 percent in September, following a 9.68 percent fall in the prior month.
Prices of manufactured products grew 1.61 percent in September, following a 1.27 percent gain in the previous month.
The final wholesale prices declined 0.25 percent in July.
